Navigating Uncertain Landscapes
Navigating landscapes which do not have a clear outcome or path requires a different framework.
When I want to create a product description copywriting app for e-commerce store owners, I am bombarded with thousands of questions and self-doubt.
How can I monetize the app?
Would people use my app since they can use ChatGPT on their own?
What value does my app adds?
How do I compete with existing competitors?
Is the market too saturated?
The truth is we do won't have the answers to these questions unless we actually build the product and engage with customers.
So whenever I catch myself being stressed out by these thought, I should reframe the narrative to "I don't have any answers now, why not I just try to do it to find out the answers, and if It doesn’t work out, I still gain knowledge capital in the process."
This also fits well with an idea that I heard from "My First Million" podcast which is your perspective from the outside is different from the inside.
A good example is the podcasting business where outsiders think that it is too saturated but podcasters know that there are lots of opportunities.
Only when we start doing can we spot the opportunities and pain points that a niche has.
